Project Title: Online Orientation
Tools used in Development: Articulate 360 Storyline, Canva
Client: Anger Management of the Upstate
Time in Development: 3 Months
Collaborators : SME (Subject Matter Expert) Kady Jacobs- Anger Management of the Upstate Owner.
Executive Summary: This project focuses on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of on-boarding individuals mandated by the Criminal Justice System to participate in an Anger Management program. To comply with court requirements, participants must begin the program and properly use an Anger Management log prior to their next court date. The Anger Management Of The Upstate online orientation will streamline the process, ensuring timely enrollment and better preparation for court appearances.
Challenge: The Anger Management of the Upstate is a sole proprietorship with only one employee, currently offering training exclusively in person. This limitation has restricted the number of clients who can be on-boarded into the program at a time, preventing some from starting the program in a timely manner before their court date.
Solution: To address the challenge of limited client on boarding capacity due to in-person training constraints, we developed an interactive online orientation using Articulate Storyline. This online module employs a "Day in the Life" framework, presenting real-life scenarios—such as workplace interactions, shopping experiences, and relationship management—to help participants identify and understand various forms of anger and their personal triggers. By engaging with these relatable situations, learners can reassess their perceptions of anger, recognize its manifestations, and appreciate the benefits of using an anger log to manage their emotions effectively.
Results: The implementation of the online orientation enables an streamline on-boarding system, increasing enrollment rates by 10%. This allows learners to begin the program before their court date, giving the owner the capacity to serve more clients.
